| An unusual year which saw record high temperatures in January and February followed by an extremely cool March and April. 1999 was characterised by low crops and small berries in both Cabernet and Shiraz which has produced a wine of concentrated colour and flavour. Vibrant crimson red, with red berry and mint aromas complexed with toasted vanillin oak and some herbal gamey undertones. A smooth silky wine with soft rounded tannins. Oak and fruit integrate wonderfully to make this attractive medium bodied wine. Oxford Landing FactCabernet Sauvignon is the original and oldest planting at Oxford Landing with some vines in excess of 40 years old. These vines are believed to be some of the first planted in the region. |
