| The 2000 vintage was the strongest red vintage at Oxford Landing for a decade and it has produced red wines of concentrated flavour and colour. Varietal fruit flavours are balanced with toasty oak undertones in typical Oxford Landing style. The 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz is deep ruby red in colour with a lively purple hue. On the nose the red berry and blackcurrant flavours of Cabernet Sauvignon blend perfectly with the earthy, spicy fruit flavours of Shiraz. The palate is layered with ripe red berry fruits that is complexed with toasty vanillan oak. Soft rich tannins and excellent mid palate sweetness ensures this wine will age gracefully for 2-5 years in bottle. Oxford Landing FactCabernet Sauvignon is the original and oldest planting at Oxford Landing with some vines in excess of 40 years old. These vines are believed to be some of the first planted in the region. |
