| Quite dense plum and dark cherry fruit aromas dominate with underlying hints of anise and fruit pastille. This vintage has produced a much more savoury, elegant style of Merlot. Still showing the characteristic suppleness and mid palate weight generosity that we expect from Merlot, this wine also has a savoury edge which makes it a perfect accompaniment with food. Although tightly structured, the finish is soft with lingering berry fruit flavours. Suitable for vegans Oxford Landing FactWe individualise our Merlot blocks as determined by the root stocks to maximise their flavour variation and complexity. Different root stocks will reach flavour heights at different times over three or more weeks during ripening. This diversity adds to the complexity and depth in the final wine. |
