Early January rain caused some initial concern in the lead-up to vintage 2005. However in January the skies cleared, which allowed the canopies to dry out before fruit was harvested; the rain having had no impact on fruit quality. The rest of Summer remained warm and dry. Fruit flavours developed later this year but patience was rewarded with excellent flavours and fine tannin structure in the final wine.
